Nem queiram saber a dificuldade que foi escolher apenas 10, dos 1000 que gostava de recomendar! Provavelmente farei disto uma rubrica semanal ou mensal. Aqui vai:

1. Léon: The Professional (1994) Luc Besson

Sem dúvida, o meu filme preferido e aquele que recomendo mais vezes. Tem tanto de violento, como de belo e a relação que nasce entre as personagens principais tem tanto de improvável, como de genuíno. É impossível ficar indiferente à história de Leon (Jean Reno), um assassino profissional, e Mathilda (Natalie Portman), uma menina de 12 anos.

Without a doubt, my favorite film and the one I recommend the most. It is both violent and beautiful and the relationship that is born between the main characters is both improbable and genuine. It is impossible to remain indifferent to the story of Leon (Jean Reno), a professional assassin, and Mathilda (Natalie Portman), a 12 year old girl.

2. Good Will Hunting (1997) Gus Van Sant

O Matt Damon e o Ben Affleck não têm apenas em comum uma grande amizade, têm também duas estatuetas douradas, graças a este filme incrível. Na minha opinião, tem um dos melhores argumentos da história do cinema. É um filme cheio de lições de vida e de citações intemporais. Robin Williams e Matt Damon, conseguem ter uma das melhores interpretações das suas carreiras.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck not only have a great mutual friendship, they also have two golden statues, thanks to this incredible movie. In my opinion, it has one of the best arguments in the history of cinema. It is a film full of life lessons and timeless quotes. Robin Williams and Matt Damon, have one of the best interpretations of their careers.

3. Little Miss Sunshine (2006) Jonathan Dayton & Valerie Faris

Uma comédia dramática, sobre uma família disfuncional, à beira de um ataque de nervos. Prometo que não vão ficar desiludidos! Uma história hilariante sobre ganhar, perder e muito mais… Sobretudo, tudo o que uma família está disposta a fazer, para concretizar o sonho de uma criança. Verdadeiramente mágico!

A dramatic comedy, about a dysfunctional family, on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I promise you will not be disappointed! A hilarious story about winning, losing and so much more… Mainly, everything a family is willing to do to make a child’s dream come true. Truly magical!

4. Jojo Rabbit (2019) Taika Waititi

Quando um filme vem da mente brilhante do Taika Waititi, já se sabe que vem lá coisa boa. Jojo Rabbit foi dos últimos filmes que vi no cinema e já tem um lugar muito especial no meu coração. Não só pela história, mas também pelas personagens. Qualquer realizador que tem a capacidade de construir algo tão cómico e tão puro, numa época tão negra da história da humanidade, recebe uma ovação minha de pé. Sem dúvida, um filme a não perder.

When a film comes from Taika Waititi‘s brilliant mind, we already know it’s going to be good. Jojo Rabbit was one of the last films I saw in the cinema and already has a very special place in my heart. Not only for the story, but also for the characters. Any director who has the ability to build something so funny and so pure, in such a dark time in human history, as a standing ovation from me. Undoubtedly, a film that you will not want to miss.

5. The Breakfast Club (1985) John Hughes

“Don’t you forget about me…” É logo a música que me vem à cabeça, quando alguém fala deste filme. Um filme praticamente de culto, sobre um grupo de estudantes que é forçado a ficar um sábado de castigo , na biblioteca da escola. Brian (Anthony Michael Hall), o cérebro, John (Judd Nelson), o criminoso, Claire (Molly Ringwald), a princesa, Andrew (Emilio Estevez), o atleta e Allison (Ally Sheedy), o caso perdido, são obrigados a conviver durante um dia inteiro. Apesar de muito diferentes, acabam por descobrir que têm mais em comum do que pensam. A cena em que todos dançam, é das minhas preferidas.

“Don’t you forget about me…” it’s the song that immediately comes to my mind when someone talks about this film. A film with an almost cult-like status, about a group of students who are forced to spend an entire Saturday, in the school library, in detention. Brian (Anthony Michael Hall), the brain, John (Judd Nelson), the criminal, Claire (Molly Ringwald), the princess, Andrew (Emilio Estevez), the athlete and Allison (Ally Sheedy), the lost case, are forced to live together for a whole day. Although very different, they find that they have more in common than they think. The scene where everyone dances is one of my favorites.

6. Forrest Gump (1994) Robert Zemeckis

Não é segredo para ninguém que o Tom Hanks, é um dos meus actores preferidos. Por isso, não é de estranhar que passe a vida a recomendar filmes, onde ele tem o papel principal. É um actor que nunca desilude. Neste filme desempenha o papel de Forrest Gump, um homem bastante peculiar. No entanto, o que torna este filme mais especial, são os eventos históricos em que ele participa e as situações caricatas em que se vê envolvido… tudo para reencontrar o amor da sua vida. Comovente, divertido e romântico, são os ingredientes utilizados nesta receita fenomenal da história do cinema.

It is no secret that Tom Hanks is one of my favorite actors. Therefore, it is not surprising that I spend my life recommending films, where he has a leading role. He is an actor that never disappoints. In this film he plays the role of Forrest Gump, a very peculiar man. However, what makes this film more special are the historical events in which he participates and the strange situations in which he gets involved… to reunite with the love of his life. Touching, funny and romantic are the ingredients used in this phenomenal recipe from the history of cinema.

7. Inception (2010) Christopher Nolan

Gostava de conseguir entrar na mente do Christopher Nolan e perceber onde vai buscar inspiração para a complexidade das suas criações. Sempre que vejo filmes dele, sinto que estou a construir um puzzle, onde inicialmente parece que me faltam peças, mas no final tudo se compõe. Este homem é um génio e quando penso que já vi o melhor que ele tem para oferecer… bang! Surge um novo puzzle para resolver. É pura magia! Este filme, está no topo das minhas recomendações. Não só porque está estrelado de talento, mas porque é um desafio à nossa capacidade de interpretação de uma mente brilhante. Estás pronto para jogar?

I would love to be able to get into Christopher Nolan’s mind and see where he gets inspiration for the complexity of his creations. Whenever I see his films, I feel like I am building a puzzle, where at first it seems that I am missing pieces, but in the end everything makes sense. This man is a genius and when I think I’ve seen the best he has to offer… bang! A new puzzle appears to solve. It’s pure magic! This film is at the top of my recommendations. Not only because it is starred with talent, but also because it is a challenge to our ability to interpret a brilliant mind. Are you ready to play?

8. The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019) Tyler Nilson & Michael Schwartz

A aventura começa com a personagem de Zak (Zack Gottsagen), um jovem com síndrome de Down, que consegue fugir do lar onde vive, alimentado pelo sonho de encontrar a escola de luta livre de The Salt Water Redneck. É o primeiro capítulo, de um argumento comovente e divertido. É logo no início da sua cruzada, que Zak conhece Tyler (Shia LaBeouf), um homem com talento para atrair sarilhos. Também Eleanor (Dakota Johnson), a responsável por Zak, acaba por se juntar à aventura. Entre os três surge uma amizade emocionante, tudo para que Zak se trone num lutador profissional e conheça o seu maior ídolo. Um filme cheio de pripécias, ideal para ver com o/a vosso/a melhor amigo/a.

Between the three, an exciting friendship emerges, all for Zak to become a professional wrestler and meet his greatest idol. A film full of funny moments, ideal to see with your best friend.

9. Seven Psychopaths (2012) Martin McDonagh

Se estás à procura de um filme completamente maluco, tenho boas notícias para ti, não precisas de procurar mais. A minha sugestão, é um filme realizado pelo incrível Martin McDonagh, com três dos meus actores preferidos Colin Farrell, Woody Harrelson e Sam Rockwell. Um roteirista com falta de inspiração, Los Angeles, 7 psicopatas, um gangster e um cão Shih Tzu, são os elementos necessários para chorares de tanto rir. Um dos filmes mais divertidos que já vi!

If you’re looking for a completely crazy film, I have good news for you, because you don’t need to look for it anymore. Drumroll please (drrrrrrrom) …. Seven Psychopaths! Directed by the awsome Martin McDonagh, with three of my favorite actors Colin Farrell, Woody Harrelson e Sam Rockwell, this film only needs: a struggling screenwriter, LA, 7 Psychopaths, a gangster and a Shih Tzu, to make you LOL. One of the most funny movies I’ve ever seen!

10. Into the Wild (2007) Sean Penn

Baseado na obra de Jon Krakauer, Into The Wild, está na lista dos filmes que mais me marcaram, principalmente porque conta a história verídica de ChChristopher McCandless (Emile Hirsch): um estudante com um futuro promissor, que doa a sua fortuna para caridade e se despega de todos os seus bens materiais, para explorar o lado mais selvagem do Alasca. O filme é, em todos os sentidos, perfeito. Uma experiência cinematográfica sensível e comovente, capaz de despertar as nossas emoções e fazer-nos questionar o nosso caminho. Já para não falar das canções de Eddie Vedder que fazem este filme ganhar ainda mais alma.

Based on the book by Jon Krakauer, Into The Wild, it is on the list of films that most impressed me, mainly because it tells the true story of Christopher McCandless (Emile Hirsch): a student with a promising future, who donates his fortune to charity and abandons his possessions to walked deep into the Alaskan wilderness. The film is, in every sense, perfect. A sensitive and moving cinematic experience, capable of awakening our emotions and making us question our path. Not to mention the songs by Eddie Vedder that make this film even more soulful.
